A14 worked with the artist on producing the prints on the intaglio press. To remain consistent with the project, paper plates were chosen, that is, sheets onto which the selected composition had been fixed, instead of the traditional lithographic stone.
The gumprint technique in fact uses a sheet of paper which, worked with a greasy substance and prepared with gum arabic, can be printed following the same procedure as traditional lithographic printing. Being an ephemeral support, it allows only a limited number of impressions to be made.
In this specific case, each impression was obtained by adding together, in register, several printing passes, each corresponding to a different colour.
