Ola Eibl Vieni via con me, 2005

The main theme is travel and staying in places. Vieni via con me is the artist's book that marks the start of a body of research lasting almost two years. An edition that sums up and translates a series of impressions, all gathered during the artist's stay in Italy, made during her residency at the atelier.

A handcrafted leather portfolio bag, made to measure, which Ola Eibl will take with its contents all the way to Brazil, thanks to the atelier's invitation to an exchange project between Italy and Brazil, Correspondência, part of the III Bienal de gravura de Santo Andrè in Brazil, in the state of São Paulo.

September-Oktober is a large-format sheet, shown in the group exhibition Correspondência at the Centro Universitário Belas Artes, which she made at this second stage of the journey with the support of Daniela Lorenzi and Helena Freddi, curators of the project, at the HF atelier in São Paulo. The sprawl of the metropolis and the concentration and sedimentation of information are summed up in the choice of a single large format, while the content already anticipates a deeper reflection on social and political differences.

Closing this line of work is the 2016 cycle Sei sensi , made in Berlin after her return from these journeys. Six images in which the author focuses on perception. A graphic interpretation of what is in itself neither visible nor tangible. A critical reflection, a metaphor played entirely on the senses, where the mechanical nature of actions replaces deeper meaning: a portrait of consumerism.

Artist's book

Technique: etching, aquatint, drypoint, linoleum, gumprint.

Thirty-five original prints. Nineteen Plexiglas plates worked in drypoint and solvents, printed in two passes with additions in gumprint and linoleum (eight plates). Nine brass plates worked in etching and aquatint. Three zinc plates and one copper plate in drypoint.

Format: 50 x 37 cm, leporello 9 m when open.

Paper: Graphia 270 g

Edition: 3 copies numbered in Arabic numerals from 1 to 3. Each book is unique, as it has different variants.
